A worker wearing a yellow jacket, gloves, protective glasses, and a mask is grinding metal, creating sparks.

Jim Gregory

A lot got me here, but the real story of my art and life is yet to come. I hope you follow along as I continue to explore and evolve JAG DESIGNS.

I am a builder of many things, and I design/build most of the tools and equipment I use to create my pieces. I also built my shops (I have two) from the ground up; they are also a part of my creative process.

I started my artistic work with glass, the raw material, and the process of manipulating it with heat, pressure, chemicals/dyes… I began with glass blowing, evolved to fused glass, and now shattered glass panels.

I am a self-taught welder, perfecting my trade with each sculpture. I create large-scale (10-12 feet) sculptures and small (12-14 inch) tabletop sculptures with accents of my glass art.

Large-scale public installation is where I put my focus, pieces built to live outdoors, to hold up to weather and time, and to belong to the places they occupy.

I also build work sized for a home or a private garden. The materials, the craft, and the standard are the same regardless of scale.

Custom commissions are always welcome.
